When I removed this blog I had over eighty regular subscribers, and I thought that was a lot of guys and I was very flattered to have that many readers.
But over the weekend, I was inundated with emails from nearly two hundred guys and girls who were readers of the blog, some regular commentors, some had sent emails previously, but all were regular readers.
The really amazing thing was to read the emails from the boys still in high school, and middle school, and a few from guys even younger. I had no idea the readership was that widespread, or that it was so diverse in the age distribution. Even some girls sent a letter because they had a gay brother, or cousin, or friend who is gay. In one case a girl wrote because their boyfriend had been reading the blog and had decided to be honest with her and admit his feeling for boys.
Well, I can't continue here, I'm sorry. I managed to escape the damages I thought were looming, and this will be the final thing I post here. Yes, a very few people on my campus have discovered the truth. Those who have spoken to me about it have sworn to maintain the secret, and to those guys and girls I'm eternally grateful.
But the bay is a big body of water and maybe your course will cross that of this sailor boy in the future, someplace on a more anonymous blog.
